The Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported additional circumstances of the deliberate murder of the Ukrainian military in Olenivka in the temporarily occupied territory of the Donetsk region.

It is noted that the so-called “investigative actions” against Ukrainian military, including those from the Azov Regiment, were carried out by representatives of the so-called “MGB DPR.” Also, mercenaries of Wagner (Liga) PMC and the FSB of the Russian Federation were involved in these interrogations.

They used physical torture during interrogations.

“Firstly such measures were aimed not at obtaining certain confidential information, but at bullying, physical humiliation, psychological demoralization to break the moral and psychological qualities of Ukrainian soldiers. FSB representatives, if they would succeed , planned to involve Ukrainian prisoners to appear in pro-Russian reportages,” the report said.

The DI representatives stressed that the purpose of such reportages was to compel prisoners to recognize “the crimes committed by them, atrocities against the local population, renounce their views, and also condemn the actions of the leadership of Ukraine.”

Such interrogations were carried out regularly, but, according to Defense Intelligence, were unsuccessful.

“The Ukrainian prisoners showed exceptional courage and unbreakable willpower,” the Defense Intelligence stressed.

Also, the report notes that the Russian side did not intend to exchange prisoners of war. Thus the explosion that occurred in Olenivka on July 29 was a way to hide improper conditions and forms of interrogation.

“According to reports, the mining of the place of detention of Ukrainian fighters was carried out by the Wagner (Liga) PMC militants. They used a flammable substance, which led to the rapid spread of a fire in the room,” the DI added.

Recall that earlier the SSU announced the phone negotiations of the militants of the so-called “DPR,” where they say that the explosion occurred inside the barracks in Olenivka.

On August 2, the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation adopted a decision that recognized the Azov Regiment as a so-called “terrorist organization” and banned its activities in Russia.

In Azov Regiment reacted to such a statement and called on the United States and partners to recognize Russia as a terrorist state.
