The first drones purchased within the “Army of Drones” project were delivered to Ukraine to meet the needs of the Defense Forces.

Mykhailo Fedorov, Head of the Ministry of Digital Transformation, announced this.

Today, the drones will be deployed to the front lines to strengthen the capacity of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“One of the best drones in this batch is the FLyEye. Its flight range is 160 km, its radius is 50 km, and its maximum air speed is 120 km/h. This will allow reconnaissance operatives to penetrate into the rear of enemy lines and obtain important information,” said Minister Fedorov.

In addition, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be strengthened with DJI Matrice 300 multicopters.

Fedorov added that these drones have powerful cameras and thermal imagers. Ukrainian soldiers will be able to well observe the enemy equipment around the clock.

According to the Ministry of Digital Transformation, more than UAH 751 million have already been collected for the “Army of Drones” through the United24 platform.

These funds will be allocated to purchase 200 reconnaissance drones for the Ukrainian military by the end of August.

The first 260 million of the donated funds have already been allocated – the agreement was signed for the purchase of two control stations and 20 Fly Eye drones, 78 Matrice multicopters, and two ground systems for 20 Warmate kamikaze drones.

It was reported that the “Army of Drones” project is a program that includes the systematic procurement of drones, their repair, maintenance, and, if needed, the operational replacement, along with the pilot training course.

As previously reported, soldiers of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces had recently received H10 Poseidon Mk II drones from the volunteers of “Sprava Hromad” NGO and the Poroshenko Foundation.

These drones will strengthen the artillery. They can be operated by any brigade that is in the same area of responsibility. The servicemen have already undergone the necessary training to use these systems.
