Gunners of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have already started using 105mm L119 howitzers.
Videos featuring the artillery systems were released on social media.
The howitzers are being handed over from Western countries as military support for Ukraine in the face of Russia’s full-scale aggression started in February this year.
The released footage reveals the Ukrainian servicemen initially conducting coordination at the training grounds.
During the training, the L119 towed howitzer crew perfectly honed the skills of deployment in a combat position causing subsequent artillery fire damage to the enemy.
After launching fire strikes, the gunners withdrew from their position and went to a new area.
A quick change of firing position is necessary to minimize the risks of coming under enemy counter-battery fire and thus save personnel and weapons from getting hit.
The L119 towed howitzer is designed to support infantry, airborne troops, and assault teams.
The howitzer is manually loaded and can effectively destroy lightly armored vehicles and infantry. It can be moved quickly and used to provide maximum firepower.
The L119 fires all standard NATO 105mm semi-fixed ammunition as well as special rockets. The maximum range of the shot, depending on the ammunition, can vary from 11,500 to 19,000 meters.
The L119 howitzer can be towed by M1097 or M1152 military off-road vehicles (HMMWV).
Last month, the Ukrainian military personnel began their training with these towed howitzers in Great Britain. The United States will transfer 36,000 rounds of 105 mm ammunition to Ukraine.
