The self-proclaimed president of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, has said that his country could go to war against Ukraine if aggression is launched against Belarus.

According to Lukashenko, numerous statements abroad that Belarus will allegedly join the hostilities in Ukraine are not spread just like that, the state newspaper Belta reports.

“This is how public opinion is being prepared to get us involved,” the self-proclaimed president said.

Lukashenko also stated: “There is only one way to get us involved in the war: if aggression starts against us, if they start fighting against us.

“So I keep my ears open. As I read this, I call out to the military, “Report what’s going on in the Northwest, what’s going on in the West? Do we see all? Did we all mobilize? How does intelligence work?” the leader of Belarus said.

In addition, Lukashenko added that “he had said one thousand and twenty times that he had no plans to fight in Ukraine.”

According to him, “Belarusians do not genetically accept the war” but now there is an information war and it is necessary to react calmly and “respond well” but not to justify.

Despite Lukashenko’s statements, Belarus continues to be the territory from which Russian troops are shelling Ukraine.

Russian combat aircraft use Belarusian airfields to launch missile and bomb strikes. Cruise and ballistic missiles are being fired from Belarus, including at civilian facilities and residential areas.

There is also a Russian military contingent in Belarus, which constantly enters the territory of Ukraine for war and capture.

The Russians use not only military airfields, but also civilian airports of the Republic of Belarus to attack Ukraine.
