Ukrainian volunteers of the Apate organization, which specializes in the production of mockups and dummies of military equipment, have developed a mockup of an F-16 fighter jet.
The volunteers announced this in their official Telegram channel.
The video captures a full-size mockup of an F-16 fighter jet that will be used by the Ukrainian Air Force at military air bases in the future.
It is not yet clear whether this is a fully completed mockup or just the first sample that will be improved in the future to become a high-quality decoy.
Apart from the photo itself, nothing is known about the mockup, nor is it known what material it was made of.
The full-size mockups help the Ukrainian military to store real equipment and draw fire from ballistic missiles and Lancet drones.
Ukrainian volunteers of the Apate organization from Rivne also produce other equipment mockups that are actively used by the Defense Forces on the front line.
Previously, the Apate organization has launched the production of various mockups for the Ukrainian military.
Volunteers receive hundreds of requests from various units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Apate’s product catalog includes mockups of 82-mm 2B9 Vasilek automatic mortars, Starlink terminals, and American Sentinel radars.
Volunteers note that the mockups correspond to 90-100% of the size of real equipment and weapons.
They are made of wood, metal, and plastic. Unlike inflatable mockups, they do not change their shape and size depending on weather conditions.
