Bell Textron views Ukraine as a potential key hub for the assembly, maintenance, and repair of H-1 series helicopters in Europe.
This was stated by Phil Fickes, Director of Bell Textron Ukraine, in an interview with Aeronaut.
“Ukraine is not just a potential new market. This initiative has the potential to take Bell Textron to an even higher global level, and we hope that this partnership will lay the foundation for innovative and long-term cooperation between both parties,” he said.
According to him, the signing of the Letter of Intent was driven by interest from Ukraine, but Bell also saw an opportunity in this case that would be mutually beneficial for both parties and have significantly broader prospects than a standard commercial agreement.
Currently, the parties are in the process of exploring the nature of future cooperation. He emphasized that agreements of this nature always involve many variables, so it is currently impossible to specify concrete timelines or criteria for success.
In particular, Bell is already conducting preliminary negotiations with Ukrainian companies to assess their capabilities and to explain the company’s own criteria and processes for potential local production.
“There is still a long way to go, but the process is moving in the right direction,” noted Phil Fickes.
