US to Buy Ukrainian Drones, Trump Says

The United States will buy drones from Ukraine.

US President Donald Trump said this during a meeting with Volodymyr Zelensky on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Ankara, European Pravda reported.

Trump responded to questions from media representatives about the current status of the bilateral agreement on unmanned technologies between Ukraine and the United States.

The US President confirmed his intentions regarding future purchases of drone platforms and praised Ukraine’s capabilities in this field.

According to the EP he said that the US will buy Ukrainian drones. “We make great drones, but they have the ability to produce them in very large quantities, which is extremely impressive. It’s amazing that they produce them in war conditions,” Donald Trump added.

In May, the governments of the United States and Ukraine prepared a draft memorandum outlining the terms of a potential new defense agreement between the two countries.

The document, developed by the US State Department together with Ukrainian Ambassador to the US Olha Stefanishyna, was the first step toward an agreement that could allow Ukraine to export defense technologies to the United States and establish joint drone production with American companies.
