Unmanned Systems Forces Strike 34 Energy Facilities in Occupied Territories in September

Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces struck 34 energy facilities in temporarily occupied territories during the first week of September.

Robert “Magyar” Brovdi, commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces, announced the strikes and released video footage showing Ukrainian drones carrying out the attacks.

The strikes are part of the “Crimean Switch-Off” operation.

Targets included electrical and traction substations of various capacities, gas distribution stations, and the Luhansk Thermal Power Plant in the temporarily occupied city of Shchastia.

The attacks targeted facilities in Crimea, as well as in the occupied parts of the Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions. The targets included substations operating at 110, 150, 220, and 330 kV.

In Crimea, Ukrainian drones targeted gas distribution stations, including facilities near Yevpatoria, Nyzhnohirskyi, Veresaiieve, and Pervomaiske. Some energy facilities were struck repeatedly, including the Henichenska substation in the Kherson region and the Mykhailivska substation in the Luhansk region.

Overall, between July 6 and September 9, 2026, as part of the “Crimean Switch-Off” operation, Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces struck 374 energy facilities in Crimea and other temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.
