All four atmospheric-vacuum distillation (AVT) units at the Orsknefteorgsintez oil refinery in Orsk, Russia, have been hit.
The OSINT channel Exilenova+ reported this.
Photos of the aftermath show extensive damage to the facility’s equipment. This is one of the most effective recent attacks on a Russian oil refinery.
The strike on Orsknefteorgsintez occurred on the morning of August 11. A fire broke out at the facility after the attack, and thick black smoke was seen over the city.
Orsknefteorgsintez has a refining capacity of about 6 million metric tons of crude oil per year. The refinery produces more than 30 types of petroleum products, including gasoline, diesel fuel, jet fuel, fuel oil and bitumen.
The facility is part of Industrial and Financial Group SAFMAR and is an important supplier of petroleum products to the Ural and Volga regions. The refinery is located about 1,400 kilometers from Ukraine’s border.
Orsknefteorgsintez has previously been targeted by Ukrainian strikes, including in October and November 2025 and in April 2026. After the latest attack, the extent of damage to the facility’s equipment was significantly greater.
