Units of the Ukrainian Navy struck a communications hub of Russia’s Black Sea Fleet in temporarily occupied Crimea during the night of September 11.

The Ukrainian Navy reported on this.

The targeted hub was located on the premises of the 184th Research and Experimental Base in Sevastopol and was used to coordinate units of Russia’s Black Sea Fleet.

In addition, the facility located at coordinates 44.579458, 33.402161 is situated in close proximity to the Sevastopol airfield, which the Russians use for military purposes.

Before the Russian occupation of Crimea, the 184th Research and Experimental Base of the Ukrainian Armed Forces specialized in hydrodynamic testing of ships and underwater vehicles, the development and testing of maritime technical equipment, hydrobiological research, and experimental trials in the marine environment.

In addition, units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces are also targeting other communication assets of the occupiers in Crimea, including aeronautical navigation facilities and the GLONASS system. For example, at the end of August 2025, the Ghosts (Prymary) unit of Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence carried out an operation to strike the MR-10 coastal radar station.

The MR-10 determines the coordinates and movement parameters of targets in both relative and geographic coordinate systems and transmits the data to automated information collection and processing systems. The station can also be used to guide ships through narrow passages, straits, or anchorages.
