Against the backdrop of the constant shifting of operating frequencies by Russian FPV drones, the Ukrainian company BABAI has introduced the Vydun 7.5 detector.
The company informed Militarnyi that the device is capable of intercepting analog video signals within the 6000–7500 MHz range.
In the Vydun 7.5, the operator can independently select the operating mode.
Specifically:
This flexibility enables the operator to maneuver between detection accuracy and reaction speed, adapting the device to specific sectors of the front line.
In the device, the signal strength (RSSI) is determined at the hardware level. This allows the operator not only to detect the presence of a signal but also to more accurately estimate the distance to a potential threat. The device features an automatic switching function: if a drone with a stronger RSSI signal appears within the coverage zone, the detector instantly displays its image on the main screen. This enables the operator to react promptly to the nearest and most dangerous target.
Structurally, the Vydun 7.5 has retained its proven dual-display architecture: A large 4.3-inch screen for broadcasting intercepted video and a small OLED display for displaying service data (frequency, RSSI threshold, battery status).
Manufacturer-declared specifications of the device:
The device is also equipped with a filtration system for civilian frequencies (LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth), which minimizes the number of false positives in the frontline zone. Software updates occur Over-The-Air (OTA) via Wi-Fi, enabling rapid addition of new ranges and algorithms without returning the device to the manufacturer.
