The Croatian state-owned company Agency Alan will establish cooperation between Ukrainian and Croatian defense companies.
The National Association of Defense Industry of Ukraine (NAUDI) has signed a memorandum of cooperation with Agency Alan.
The main activity of the Croatian company is the import and export of weapons and special military equipment for the needs of the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of the Republic of Croatia.
This memorandum opens up new opportunities for cooperation between Ukrainian and Croatian defense companies, which are already cooperating on joint projects for the needs of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
Deepening such cooperation will make it possible to create effective defense solutions not only for the Ukrainian front, but also for the international market.
“This interaction opens up great opportunities for cooperation between Ukrainian and Croatian defense companies. Our companies are already actively working on joint projects to meet the needs of the Ukrainian army, but by further deepening cooperation, we will be able to offer effective defense solutions for the global arms market,” said NAUDI Executive Director Sergii Honcharov.
By establishing Alan Agency, the Croatian government has strictly adhered to its transparency policy, keeping the arms trade transparent to its international commitments.
The Agency operates within the framework of these commitments and in accordance with Croatian legislation that governs the production, trade and quality of products.
Alan Agency works closely with the Ministry of Defense (on import and export issues and other military aspects) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (requesting comments and suggestions on the political situation for each special contract).
All export revenues are reinvested in the modernization of the Armed Forces of Croatia, which allows for the development of projects and the creation of new or improved systems.
“Our mission is to support the capacity of the Croatian defense industry and increase the exports of the defense sector of the Republic of Croatia,” the agency said.
Earlier, Ukraine received M-84 tanks and M-80 infantry fighting vehicles from Croatia for €145 million. These tanks are a localized version of the exported Soviet T-72M1 tanks manufactured under license in Yugoslavia.
