Ukraine’s Defence Intelligence Receives Upgraded Dozor-B Armored Personnel Carriers

The Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU) received a special version of two Ukrainian-made Dozor-B armored personnel carriers.

This was announced by Oleh Syniehubov, Head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration.

It is reported that combat vehicles are exclusively designed for the needs of the DIU.

“We cannot talk about all the advantages of the vehicle, but the Russian invaders should “like” them. Including armor, in particular, protection against mines, small arms fire, etc.,” Syniehubov wrote.

We can only assume what improvements the new Dozor has received, but visually, you can see the installed front and rear optical sensors, probably with thermal and/or night channels.

Transferred Dozor is armed with a closed-type machine gun installation with smoke grenade launchers.

It can be assumed that 12.7mm machine guns will be mounted on the installation.

Armored vehicles also received new doors with a wiper on the armored wing, which was not previously available on both the Ukrainian and Polish versions of the vehicles.

In March 2023, Militarnyi reported that the upgraded Oncilla armored personnel carrier was handed over to the Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

Information about the sale of a license for the production of a Dozor-B armored vehicle to the Polish company Mista appeared in 2013.

The first Oncilla armored vehicle was assembled at the Kyiv Armored Plant, later production would take place in Poland.

In April 2022, it was reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine received another batch of Oncilla combat vehicles, which were produced by the enterprise of the research and production company VK Sistema.
