Daimler Truck has received an order for about 1000 Mercedes-Benz Zetros military trucks for Ukraine.

The trucks will be used for logistics, evacuation and transportation at the front, FAZ reports.

The Zetros is a six-cylinder diesel truck designed for rough terrain: marshy ground, forests, rivers and steep slopes. It provides communication between units, delivers fuel, materials and the wounded.

Mercedes-Benz Special Trucks is adapting its vehicles to the conditions of drone warfare: speed, maneuverability and low visibility are the priorities.

Reducing the signature is a key task. This means masking heat, noise and electromagnetic radiation. Some of the solutions are being developed and tested in Ukraine, which Daimler calls the “Silicon Valley of the defense industry.”

The company has already supplied more than 200 of these trucks to Ukraine. The new order is a continuation of cooperation with the government in Kyiv. Daimler Truck does not comment on the details of the contract.

Daimler Truck not only sells Zetros to Ukraine, Canada also ordered about 1,500 of these trucks last year. Daimler Truck produces the vehicles at its plant in Vert and will deliver them between 2026 and 2029.
