New Danish and Swedish Uniforms Based on Crye Precision Designs

Denmark and Sweden have presented new combat uniforms based on designs and solutions developed by the U.S. company Crye Precision.

The new systems, the Danish M/26 Combat Uniform and Sweden’s MSU26 Combat Garment System, were presented at DALO Industry Days 2026 in Herning, Denmark.

Danish M/26 to Replace the Problematic NCU

The Danish M/26 Combat Uniform is based on Crye Precision’s G4 Combat and G4 Field models and uses the MultiCam camouflage pattern.

The M/26 will replace part of the Nordic Combat Uniform System (NCU). In 2026, Denmark suspended the distribution of NCU combat uniforms due to quality issues.

In June, Denmark’s procurement agency FMI signed a new contract with Belgian company Seyntex, which will produce the M/26 in cooperation with Crye Precision. The contract covers lightweight and heavyweight combat uniforms, as well as combat shirts for the Danish Armed Forces, Home Guard, and civil protection service.

Deliveries of the new uniforms are expected to begin in October 2026 and continue through October 2027, with distribution to military personnel scheduled to start in the first quarter of 2027.

Swedish MSU26 Based on G3.5

Meanwhile, Sweden has unveiled the MSU26 Combat Garment System, which is based on Crye Precision’s G3.5 design and features the Swedish M90 camouflage pattern.

According to MP-SEC International, Crye Precision’s Swedish partner, the MSU26 system was publicly presented for the first time. Its development took around two years, and the uniform is currently used by only a limited number of units.

Thus, the two Scandinavian countries are introducing new combat uniforms in parallel, both based on related Crye Precision solutions but adapted to their own requirements and camouflage patterns.

Both systems were presented at DALO Industry Days, the largest defense industry exhibition in Scandinavia, which took place this year on August 19–20 at Messecenter Herning.
