Ukraine has developed Chuyka 3.0 — video signal detector to counter Russian drones transmitting analog FPV video feeds.
According to the Brave1 defense tech cluster, the device — produced by BlueBird Drones — is designed for electronic intelligence operations.
It intercepts analog video signals from FPV drones, allowing users to view the operator’s screen in real time and respond accordingly.
While primarily aimed at FPV drones, Chuyka can also intercept feeds from other Russian unmanned aerial vehicles.
The system has a detection range of up to 4 kilometers. When a drone transmitting an analog signal enters this zone, Chuyka emits a sound alert that intensifies as the drone approaches.
The device scans across multiple frequency bands: 900–1680 MHz, 3060–3700 MHz, and 4990–6000 MHz, using high-speed parallel autoscan.
Its screen can display up to three signal sources and their frequencies simultaneously.
Operators can switch between channels to display intercepted video and determine whether the drone is Ukrainian or Russian, along with its route.

Chuyka 3.0 scans video frequencies in 4 to 8 seconds.
The developer says its proprietary software can even intercept encrypted signals. Software updates are based on feedback from battlefield use.
The device currently operates across three key frequency bands, covering roughly 95% of common FPV drone signals.
Development of the next-generation Chuyka 4.0 is underway, with plans for enhanced range, networked capabilities, and integration into broader electronic warfare systems.
Last year, Ukraine also introduced the Tsukorok, a passive infantry-level drone detector.
Unlike active systems, Tsukorok does not emit signals, making it invisible to enemy electronic surveillance. It detects Russian drones by monitoring their radio emissions.
