Ukrainian Company KORT Has Developed New 8-Channel CRPA Antenna

The Ukrainian company KORT has developed its own 8-channel CRPA antenna, the Orion 8, to protect drones from electronic warfare jamming.

The new system was unveiled at the MSPO International Defence Industry Exhibition in Poland, according to Militarnyi.

“We chose this (ed. – antenna) as the most suitable option and will keep refining it. As for other developments—since this is a fairly complex, long-term, and quite expensive process—we have no plans to pursue them until we’ve finalized this one,” said a representative of KORT.

Development was completed several months ago, and the product is now in the final stage of testing.

The antenna is being tested on fixed-wing drones, which the company supplies to the Ukrainian Defense Forces, to verify its performance under various types of jamming.

For this project, the company is collaborating with Septentrio, integrating the antenna with their GNSS receivers.

A CRPA (Controlled Radiation Pattern Antenna) is an adaptive antenna array that suppresses enemy electronic warfare signals and enables a UAV’s satellite receiver to determine precise coordinates in the presence of radio interference.
