Ukrainian forces destroyed a road bridge near the temporarily occupied city of Novoazovsk in the Donetsk region.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported the destruction of the bridge, and a photo of the damage was published by the Telegram channel ChP Donetsk.
Judging by the published photos, one side of the bridge has completely collapsed, while the other has sustained significant damage.
According to the local occupation administration, the bridge connected the banks of the Hruzkyi Yelanchik River, which divides the city. Pedestrians can cross the bridge, but vehicle traffic from one part of Novoazovsk to the other is restricted.
According to the “mayor” appointed by the occupiers, the bridge is “severely damaged,” and it is currently unknown whether it can be repaired or if it will need to be completely dismantled.
This is the second attack on this bridge in Novoazovsk in June 2026. The previous attack took place on the night of June 15, after which the occupiers restricted traffic, allowing vehicles to pass in only one lane.
This bridge is part of the so-called “land corridor” that the Russian army uses to transport personnel, ammunition, fuel, and equipment between Russia, the occupied cities of Mariupol and Melitopol, and Crimea. In 2024, the Russians repaired this crossing, which allowed for a significant increase in cargo traffic.
According to the General Staff, in addition to the bridge in Novoazovsk, two railway bridges in the Luhansk region were also hit.
