Ukrainian forces have withdrawn from the village of Myropilske in the Krasnopil community of Sumy region.

This was reported by the 14th Army Corps.

It is noted that amid intense combat operations and the enemy’s superiority in forces and resources, Ukrainian units, with the aim of preserving the lives of their personnel, carried out an organized withdrawal to pre-prepared defensive positions, where they continue to hold their ground.

The enemy is being targeted with artillery fire, Unmanned Systems Forces, and other weapons.

The corps emphasizes that the Defense Forces are monitoring the situation, conducting reconnaissance, and are ready for further action.

Myropilske is located approximately 900 meters from the state border with Russia. In the same sector, combat operations are ongoing along the borderline in the areas of the settlements of Stepok, Pokrovka, and Hrabovske.

In May 2025, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the decision to create a so-called “security buffer zone” along the Russian-Ukrainian border.

Since then, Russian troops have intensified limited offensive operations in certain, previously less active sectors, gradually advancing and occupying small settlements.

In particular, on March 8, it was reported that Russian forces were increasing pressure on the eastern section of the border in the Sumy region. At that time, reports emerged of the occupation of the village of Sopych in the Esman community, as well as enemy advances near the settlements of Popivka, Vysoke, Komarivka, and Pokrovka.

In addition, cases of forced deportation of civilians have been documented. After a prolonged siege of the border area, the occupiers deported 19 residents of Sopych to the Bryansk region.

Similar incidents have occurred previously: in December 2025, approximately 50 local residents were deported from the border village of Hrabovske in the Krasnopil community.

The deportation of the population is being carried out under the pretext of conducting so-called “filtration measures.”
