UAVs Attack Industrial Zone in Russia’s Sterlitamak

UAVs attacked the industrial zone of Sterlitamak, a city in Bashkortostan, Russia.

Militarnyi’s GEOINT analysis, along with videos and photos released by monitoring channels, supported this.

Eyewitnesses among local residents reported drones flying over the city and explosions in the morning.

Footage captured FP-1 drones used by the Ukrainian Defense Forces to strike critical targets in Russia in an effort to reduce its military and economic potential.

After the attack, smoke was visible in the local industrial area, where several Russian enterprises are located.

Astra suggested the target may have been Bashkir Soda Company, Russia’s leading chemical facility and the country’s leading producer of soda ash, baking soda, and PVC. The company is part of the Roskhim holding. 

The company provides products for various industries, including the defense sector. Its output includes hydrochloric acid, dichloroethane, and terephthaloyl chloride, a material used to produce armor materials and manufactured only by this company in Russia.

The company is included in the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade’s restricted registry of defense enterprises.

In March, Sterlitamak residents reported a fire at the facility.

Earlier, Ukrainian Liutyi strike drones attacked the Sterlitamak Petrochemical Plant, a major enterprise for the region’s industry. 

The facility specializes in producing synthetic rubber, including styrene-butadiene and isoprene rubber, which are used in the tire industry and in the manufacture of rubber goods.

The plant also produces latex, resins, and other petrochemical products and is likewise part of the Roskhim holding.
