The Russian Federation confirmed that military aircraft of Belarus are preparing to carry nuclear weapons

Russia is re-equipping some Belarusian Su-25 jet aircraft to carry nuclear weapons.

This was stated by the deputy head of the Russian delegation at the meeting of the UN General Assembly’s First Committee, Konstantin Vorontsov, as reported by the media of the aggressor country.

According to the Russians, their actions are justified by the “possible advancement of NATO’s nuclear infrastructure to the east.”

“At this stage, this regards to the transfer to the Republic of Belarus of the Iskander-M systems with dual equipment with missiles in conventional equipment, as well as providing some of the Belarusian Su-25 jet aircraft with the technical ability to carry nuclear weapons.

At the same time, it is not envisaged to transfer to Belarus the technologies for re-equipping aircraft into nuclear weapons carriers,” Konstantin Vorontsov said.

He added that now “there are plans neither to equip Belarusian systems with nuclear warheads, nor to move such warheads to Belarusian territory.”

As previously reported, at the end of August, Aleksandr Lukashenko stated that the conversion of military aircraft of the Air Force of Belarus has already been completed.

According to him, they became the carriers of nuclear weapons. Although, this was referring not to Su-25 attack aircraft, but to Su-24M jet aircraft, which, by the way, were retired from the Air Force of Belarus in 2012.

He emphasized that the need for such actions is a “response” to the actions of the West.

“They have to understand that no helicopters or aircraft will save them, if they (the West – Ed.) decide to aggravate the situation. Putin and I once said in St Petersburg that we will refit Belarusian Su-24 aircraft among other things so that they could carry nuclear weapons. Do you think we talk nonsense? Everything is ready!” Lukashenko said in August.

As previously reported, the decree of Alexander Lukashenko from October 11 launched an inspection of the armed forces of Belarus. Following that, the media reports appeared that Belarus announced the beginning of a counterterrorism operation due to the “threat from neighboring countries.” The statement on the operation was made by Vladimir Makei, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belaru. Local media also reported the start of the hidden mobilization in the country.

Afterwards, the State Security Committee of the Republic of Belarus denied Foreign Minister Volodymyr Makei’s statement about the beginning of a counterterrorism operation in the country.
