The French startup Groundspace plans to test its Starlink satellite terminal detector in Ukraine.

This was reported by Air&Cosmos.

The system is called WHISPR. It can be mounted on vehicle chassis, and the possibility of integrating it into unmanned platforms is also being considered.

The detection range for satellite terminal signals—not just Starlink—is claimed to be up to 25 kilometers.

There is also a portable version called Scout, which comes in a backpack format and weighs 7 kilograms. Its specifications have not been disclosed.

Other details about the manufacturer and its developments also remain undisclosed.

Given the stated detection range of up to 25 kilometers, it is unlikely that such systems will be used directly on the front lines to detect enemy communications equipment.

More likely, they will be used to detect Russian reconnaissance drones and kamikaze drones equipped with Starlink terminals or similar satellite communication systems.

In the future, WHISPR could also be used to detect terminals of the Russian Rassvet satellite communication system.
