The Republic of Korea sold 100 105-mm artillery systems to the Czech Republic.
This information was revealed in the latest UN Register of Conventional Arms (UNROCA). The transfer took place in 2025.
Thus, South Korea decided to sell part of its fleet of M101 howitzers (and their derivative variants).
At the same time, the number of artillery systems in service with the Czech Army remained the same as in 2024—193 units.
This suggests that the Czech Republic may not have purchased the South Korean howitzers for its own needs.
It is possible that they were intended specifically for Ukraine.
Ukraine had previously received M101 howitzers from Lithuania, Portugal, and, likely, from Greece.
This year, it became known that Greece exported a large batch of artillery weapons to the Czech Republic, which were likely subsequently transferred to Ukraine.
The Czech side received 66 M110A2 203 mm self-propelled howitzers, 68 M114 155 mm towed howitzers, and 56 M101 105-mm towed howitzers.
In early October 2025, reports appeared in the Greek media that the country’s government might sell 60 M110A2 203 mm self-propelled howitzers and 150,000 rounds of ammunition for them to Ukraine via the Czech Republic.
The 2025 registry also indicates that the Czech Republic imported 65 Igla man-portable air defense systems from Turkey, which may also be transferred to Ukraine.
Earlier, it was reported that the Czech company CSG will supply 155 mm artillery ammunition worth nearly €250 million to an unnamed European customer.
