On the night of September 3 in Munich, unknown individuals threw incendiary devices at a construction site near the headquarters of the technology company Rohde & Schwarz.

BR24 reported on this.

Rohde & Schwarz operates in the field of military and secure communications systems.

The Bavarian State Criminal Police Office (LKA) is treating the incident as a possible politically motivated attack on a defense contractor.

Around midnight, a witness told police that in the Berg am Laim area, people in a car threw several incendiary devices toward the construction site.

One device caught fire near construction trailers next to the Rohde & Schwarz headquarters. Police officers arrived and extinguished the fire. The fire caused only minor property damage; no one was injured.

While inspecting the scene, law enforcement officers found another incendiary device that had not detonated. A special unit from the LKA defused it, after which police cordoned off the surrounding area for a short time.

During the investigation, police detained two suspects—a 28-year-old woman and a 38-year-old man, both Bulgarian citizens. Law enforcement officers detained them at a nearby gas station on Innsbrucker Ring. Investigators are determining their possible connection to the attack and their motive.

Meanwhile, Rohde & Schwarz confirmed that police and firefighters were on the scene but emphasized that the company’s premises were not damaged. Company representatives have not yet commented on other details of the incident.

Rohde & Schwarz is a German technology and defense company that develops secure military communications systems, electronic intelligence and countermeasures, and systems for detecting and countering drones.

Militarnyi previously reported that German law enforcement identified two suspects in an attempted sabotage using FPV drones at Leipzig Airport on August 5.

Investigators determined that a Russian-born individual holding a Latvian passport and a Belarusian citizen who also holds a Russian passport may have been involved in the planned attack.
