Two oil depots and two terminals were damaged in a nighttime drone attack on Novorossiysk.

The Russian publication Astra reported on this.

A massive drone attack on important facilities of the Russian Federation in Krasnodar Krai took place on the night of Friday, May 17.

The Russian publication reports that the Novorossiysk Fuel Oil Terminal and the Importpischeprom terminal were hit. At the latter, the drones hit two fuel tanks.

In addition, it is reported that the Gazprom oil depot in the village of Kirilovka and the Grushovaya Balka oil depot owned by Transneft had been hit.

Russian regional authorities and propaganda media outlets have traditionally claimed that all the drones had been shot down. And the fires allegedly occurred “as a result of falling debris.”

No casualties reported.

Eyewitnesses among local residents claimed on social media that the explosions in Novorossiysk had begun at 3 a.m. and continued until almost 4 a.m. They counted more than 30 explosions.

Russian air defense systems were also operating near the city, trying to shoot down drones.

In addition, explosions also occurred at night in the port of Novorossiysk, which is Russia’s main commercial port on the Black Sea and a naval base of the Russian Navy.

As a result of the attack, as of the morning, the port was completely black-out. Electricity also disappeared in some areas of the city and public transport did not work. Some streets were closed off.

Also on Friday morning, a Russian oil refinery in Tuapse, Krasnodar Krai, was hit by drones.
