151st Brigade’s Drones Destroy Russia’s Newest 2S43 Giatsint-K Self-Propelled Gun

Operators from Ukraine’s 151st Mechanized Brigade destroyed a Russian 2S44 Giatsint-K wheeled self-propelled gun on the Kupiansk sector.

The brigade published footage of the strike on its social media channels.

The vehicle is only the second confirmed loss of a 2S44 Giatsint-K self-propelled gun since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

The new Russian 152 mm self-propelled artillery system is mounted on the four-axle BAZ-6010-027 8×8 wheeled chassis.

The system is an adaptation of the artillery component of the towed 2A36 Giatsint-B gun mounted on a wheeled chassis, following the same design approach as the 2S43 Malva self-propelled gun.

The system can fire standard high-explosive fragmentation (HE-FRAG) projectiles to a range of up to 30.5 km, while rocket-assisted projectiles extend its maximum range to 33.1 km.

Thanks to its wheeled chassis, the system offers enhanced road mobility and is capable of reaching speeds of up to 80 km/h (50 mph).
