Russia launched a massive missile and drone strike on Ukraine, resulting in damage to civilian infrastructure and residential buildings.
The consequences of the Russian attacks were reported by the mayors of Lviv, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, and other cities in Ukraine.
In Zaporizhzhia, the Russians targeted residential buildings, primarily high-rise apartments. According to the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Ihor Fedorov, one apartment building sustained severe damage, while eight others suffered non-critical damage.
In western Ukraine, the strikes were mainly targeted at Lviv, causing the suspension of public transportation in the city. The head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, Maksym Kozytskyi, reported that part of the city was left without electricity.
Additionally, the Russians attacked the Sparrow Industrial Park in Lviv, where a large fire broke out. As of now, there is no information about casualties or deaths.
The strikes on Lviv were carried out using Kalibr cruise missiles and Kinzhal air-launched ballistic missiles, as confirmed by the Ukrainian Air Force.
The PPO Radar Telegram channel reported that the night before, the Russians had launched one of the largest attacks on Ukraine, involving over 700 UAVs of various types, up to 50 Kh-101 and Kalibr cruise missiles, and two Kinzhal missiles fired from MiG-31K aircraft.
In addition to these cities, the Russians struck Dnipro, Kyiv, Sumy, Odesa, Chernihiv, and Mykolaiv, where explosions were reported, along with the operation of air defense systems.
Explosions were recorded in these cities, resulting in damage to civilian infrastructure and partial power outages.
It is important to note that the Russians, ignoring any conventions, are targeting the civilian population. Specifically, on October 4th, the enemy carried out a double strike on the railway station in the city of Shostka, the Sumy region.
The first strike hit the locomotive of the suburban train Tereshchynska – Novhorod-Siverskyi. When the evacuation of people began, the Russians attacked again, hitting the electric locomotive of the Kyiv – Shostka train. As a result of the strikes, one person was killed, and around 30 others were injured.
It is worth recalling that the last time the Russians used a large number of drones and missiles in the attack on Ukraine on September 28th, 2025. At that time, Russian forces carried out a targeted strike on civilian objects in Ukrainian cities, launching over 500 drones and more than 40 missiles of various types.
The massive combined attack lasted for more than 12 hours. The main directions of the strikes were Kyiv and the Kyiv region, as well as Zaporizhzhia, Khmelnytskyi, Sumy, Mykolaiv, Chernihiv, and Odesa regions.
