Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered an analysis of the role of Ukraine’s allies in the war in order to make “appropriate decisions” regarding them in the future.
He made this statement during a meeting with Russia’s military leadership, according to The Moscow Times.
According to Putin, it is necessary to analyze the involvement of each country, which he called an instigator, in combat operations.
“An analysis must be conducted of each instigator’s involvement in actual combat operations. We need this analysis to potentially make responsible decisions in the future. In any case, we may need it,” he said.
Explaining his position, Putin referred to a joint statement by a number of European Union leaders dated June 7, 2026. According to him, the document endorsed Ukraine’s innovative use of unmanned technologies.
He also repeated his accusations against Ukraine and Western partners, stating that support for Kyiv amounts to approval of strikes on Russia’s civilian infrastructure. During the same meeting, Putin ordered the continuation of massive strikes on Ukrainian territory.
Meanwhile, on the eve of the NATO summit in Ankara, Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski and Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz issued joint statements on the security situation.
Radosław Sikorski emphasized that the main goal of the summit would be to demonstrate the Alliance’s unity and deter Russia.
“We will show that the Alliance not only remains united but has also grown stronger following the accession of Sweden and Finland. It would be extremely reckless and insane for Vladimir Putin to try to test NATO’s unity through any ill-considered actions,” stated the head of the Polish Foreign Ministry.
Commenting on Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk’s statement regarding possible Russian provocations, Sikorski noted that Moscow has repeatedly used such tactics throughout history.
“Our message to Vladimir Putin is simple: we know what you’re planning. Don’t do it,” he emphasized.
The NATO summit in Ankara will take place on July 7–8, 2026, and will be one of the key international events where further support for Ukraine and the strengthening of the Alliance’s defense will be discussed.
Earlier, Militarnyi reported that European NATO members and Canada will commit at the Alliance summit, to be held next week in Ankara, to provide Ukraine with $80 billion in military aid over the 2026–2027 period.
