Ukraine Develops Hart Air Defense Mount, Soviet ZPU-2 Analog

A domestic analog of the Soviet ZPU-2 twin-barrel machine-gun mount has been developed in Ukraine and is already used, in particular, as part of the Czech Victor air defense system.

The corresponding video was published on its Facebook page by the Spalah company.

The new system is named Hart. Like the Soviet ZPU-2, it is designed to mount two 14.5-mm KPVT heavy machine guns.

Traverse and elevation are manually operated. The Hart is mounted on a trailer in the published footage.

It is not yet known whether the system will be integrated into the chassis of SUVs or trucks.

The Czech Victor system, which uses a ZPU-2 analog, was developed by Excalibur Army on a Toyota vehicle chassis.

It is also currently unknown whether the Ukrainian Hart system includes integration of day and night optical sighting modules, as implemented in the Victor system.

Victor air defense systems are used not only in Ukraine but also by the Armed Forces of Moldova.
