Polish company APS has integrated Ukrainian acoustic sensors into its anti-drone systems

The Polish company Advanced Protection Systems (APS) has integrated Ukrainian acoustic sensors into its anti-drone systems.

Dariusz Wichniarek, Vice President for Business Development of the company, shared this with a Militarnyi correspondent on the sidelines of the Defence24Days security conference.

This refers to the Polish SKYctrl system, which is designed to detect, track, and neutralize unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) that pose a threat. It has several modifications depending on the customer’s needs.

When asked by the correspondent whether the company cooperates with Ukrainian manufacturers, the APS vice president replied:

“Yes, of course, there is a great example. One of our partners is a company that produces acoustic sensors. And thanks to this cooperation, we better understand how to customize the entire system.”

He noted that in cooperation with Ukrainian companies, he was impressed by their speed.

“They are very fast, and this has also influenced our product development process and system improvement,” Vihniarek noted.

The representative of the Polish manufacturer did not specify which Ukrainian company that produces acoustic detection sensors was in question. He also did not disclose details about the characteristics of such an anti-drone system.

In addition, the APS vice president discussed how the Russian-Ukrainian war is changing the company’s products.

Last year, Militarnyi covered the SKYctrl anti-UAV system presented at the Defence24 Days conference.

This is a comprehensive solution that combines a three-dimensional airspace monitoring radar that can simultaneously detect and track multiple targets and classify them. It can also record the exact position of an airborne object in real time. And acoustic sensors and countermeasures.

SKYctrl uses an automated jamming system to neutralize drones by interrupting operator communication and navigation signals. The system has special software for this purpose.
