In Toretsk, Donetsk region, the Ukrainian military attacked a high-rise building occupied by Russian forces. The building was blown up with the invaders inside.
The Omega Special Operations Center of the National Guard stated that the operation required infiltrating enemy lines.
Before the explosion, the building had been occupied by Russian commandos, whom Ukrainian forces needed to dislodge.
It was decided to collapse the building directly on top of the Russian troops. To execute this, the Special Forces prepared explosives using several TM-62 anti-tank mines.
The Ukrainian soldiers then drove an armored vehicle close to the building occupied by the enemy.
Ukrainian positions provided cover fire on the building while the operation was underway. Within minutes, the central part of the high-rise was loaded with explosive devices.
The explosives detonated shortly after the Ukrainian soldiers withdrew from the site. The mission successfully neutralized the entrenched enemy forces.
A video of the operation captured the intense emotions of the soldiers, highlighting the extreme risks they faced during the mission.
According to the In Factum analysts, it was the last high-rise building in the city.
“The fighting will continue in the private sector, which occupies the entire western part of the city,” the analysts noted.
In September, this tactic was used in Toretsk by fighters of the “Liuty” brigade, who stormed a building and blew it up to hinder the advance of Russian troops in the city.
