Ukrainian Strike on Russian Navy Arsenal Burns 5,000 Tons of Ammunition

Ukrainian Defense Forces and the Security Service of Ukraine struck a Russian Navy arsenal in the settlement of Velyka Izhora, Leningrad Region.

According to available information, the attack on military unit 55443-LI took place on June 6 using approximately 40 strike drones. Eight drones reportedly reached the target.

The strike hit ground hangar-type storage facilities, triggering the detonation of stored ammunition.

Reported losses are estimated at approximately 5,000 tons of materiel, mainly artillery ammunition of various calibers and engineer munitions.

Dnipro OSINT published satellite imagery showing signs of detonation over an area of approximately 50,000 square meters.

Two servicemen reportedly present at the site were killed.The 15th arsenal of the Russian Navy is one of the major ammunition depots of the Baltic Fleet.

The facility was established in the 1930s as a storage base for naval ammunition of the Red Banner Baltic Fleet.

The arsenal was designed as a fortified complex with underground infrastructure and served during the Soviet period as a key node in the Baltic Fleet’s ammunition storage system.

The Western Military District facility is used as a base for ships, submarines, and auxiliary support vessels.

Miltiarnyi recently reported that drones struck the Kronstadt naval base of the Russian Baltic Fleet alongside the arsenal operation.
