Drones attacked an oil depot in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai, triggering a fire that engulfed several fuel storage tanks.
According to the Krasnodar Krai operational headquarters, the depot is located in the village of Poltavskaya. Footage shared by the Exilenova+ Telegram channel shows large flames and thick smoke billowing from the site, with at least three fuel storage tanks on fire.
Alexander Kharitonov, head of the Krasnoarmeysky District, said on Thursday morning that traffic had been temporarily suspended on the road connecting the village of Poltavskaya and the hamlet of Trudobelikovsky.
This marks the second strike on the oil depot this month. The facility was previously hit by Ukrainian drones on June 16, sparking a fire at the site.
The Poltavskaya oil depot is a major fuel storage and distribution facility in southern Russia.
It supplies petroleum products to parts of Krasnodar Krai and the Republic of Adygea. The site contains nearly 30 fuel storage tanks.
On Wednesday, Reuters reported that the Moscow Oil Refinery, which was damaged in a Ukrainian drone strike, is unlikely to restore full production before the end of the year.
