German Interceptor Drone Manufacturer Tytan to Launch New Plant

Tytan Technologies, a Munich-based manufacturer of drone countermeasure systems, is preparing to launch a new plant in Germany amid growing demand for such products.

According to a senior company representative, production at the plant—which will have a capacity of 3,000 autonomous interceptors per month — is set to begin in August of this year.

TYTAN’s flagship UAV, the TYTAN Interceptor, detects, tracks, and neutralizes enemy UAVs at high speeds with minimal human intervention.

As the manufacturer notes, TYTAN’s mission is to address critical gaps in Europe’s air defense system and strengthen the resilience of democratic nations through advanced, combat-ready technologies.

Balázs Nagy, CEO and co-founder of Tytan Technologies, told the publication that the company’s interceptor drones are widely used in Ukraine, where the Ukrainian Armed Forces employ them as a cost-effective, efficient, and easy-to-use solution for countering aerial threats.

“And we do this by manufacturing and developing autonomous counter-drone systems designed to neutralize enemy drones in flight,” he added. “This is a fundamental paradigm shift: a transition from extremely complex and expensive equipment to very simple and scalable hardware and exceptionally sophisticated software.”

The manufacturer emphasizes that insights gained from operating these drones have influenced the design, system architecture, and production readiness.

This interceptor drone is capable of reaching speeds of up to 250 km/h, operating at a range of 15 km, and, weighing 5 kg, carrying a payload of up to 1 kg.

Tytan Technologies offers a line of AI-powered autonomous interceptors, including: EOS — a short-range interceptor multicopter designed to counter small drones classified as Class I unmanned threats under NATO’s classification; and METIS — a long-range fixed-wing interceptor designed to neutralize Class II drones according to NATO classification, according to the company.

To meet the needs of the Ukrainian National Guard, the company manufactured more than 1,000 METIS interceptors on order in April of this year.

Back in 2024, the Tytan Interceptor successfully passed tests under combat conditions in Ukraine.
