Missile Strike on June 22 Damaged Two Workshops of the Voronezh Semiconductor Plant

During the strike on the Voronezh Semiconductor Device Plant, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck two workshops on the enterprise’s grounds.

This is evidenced by satellite images from Planet Labs published by the Schemes investigative media outlet.

The strike hit two main buildings on the plant’s territory.

On June 22, 2026, Ukrainian missiles hit the territory of this enterprise in the city of Voronezh.

At the time, it was reported that the strike was launched using Storm Shadow cruise missiles, which successfully bypassed Russian air defenses and hit the target.

The plant is involved in the production of components for Russian weapons, in particular for the Pantsir surface-to-air missile and gun system, Kh-101 cruise missiles, and missiles of the Iskander-K system.

In the Kh-101 missile production chain, the plant manufactured electronic component bases, including transistor assemblies and matrices for the UVK-208 unit, which is used in the missile’s systems.

Also, as part of cooperation in developing the 9M727 cruise missile for the Iskander-K system, the enterprise produced and supplied semiconductor matrices for the onboard digital computer Zarya-61M.

In addition, the plant produced individual electronic components for the 72V6 combat vehicle of the Pantsir-S1 system and its modifications, including diodes and transistor assemblies for the TVK-2 television guidance channel.

The Ukrainian Defense Forces systematically target microelectronics and semiconductor enterprises that are involved in the production of critical components for Russian long-range weapons.

On June 10, 2026, Ukraine used a Flamingo cruise missile to strike the defense plant VNIIR-Progress in Cheboksary, Chuvash Republic.

After the impact, a strong explosion was heard, and thick smoke rose over the city. The strike hit the plant’s main building, causing significant structural damage.
