Lithuania to strengthen the air defense of Ukraine

During the Ramstein Format meeting, Lithuania announced a new package of military assistance to Ukraine.

The new package of defense assistance to Kyiv was presented by the Minister of National Defense of Lithuania Arvydas Anušauskas.

On May 25, Minister of National Defence Arvydas Anušauskas attended an online meeting of the Ramstein Format of Ukraine’s donor countries where he pointed out the importance of giving Ukraine the Euro-Atlantic perspective and presented Lithuania’s latest military assistance package.

According to Anušauskas, the new military aid package to Ukraine from Lithuania will contain drone jamming equipment, ammunition, military rations and other assistance.

He said that the total amount of military support for Ukraine from Lithuania would soon reach 465 million euros.

“Our support to Ukraine is really the investment in our own resilience, deterrence and defence. Ukraine’s victory is the only thing that can restore peace and stability in the Euro-Atlantic space,” the minister said, stressing that Lithuania would continue to consistently support Ukraine to victory.

The minister also stressed the importance of training the Ukrainian military, noting that Lithuania has significantly increased the scale of exercises and the number of instructors assigned to it.

In addition to training, this year Lithuania has been transferring weapons and equipment, providing medical care and rehabilitation, as well as transferring funds to international funds in support of Ukraine.

Before this, the preparation of military assistance in March was announced by Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda.

Judging by the photos released by the Lithuanian Ministry of Defense, the Ukrainian side will be provided with EDM4S anti-drone guns.

EDM4S was developed by the Lithuanian company NT-Servise to counter unmanned aerial vehicles.

Its effectiveness is achieved by suppressing control, video and navigation signals. The complex is quite mobile and ready for use by pressing the turn-on button.
