IWN: 30 Chinese Vessels Pass Through Strait of Hormuz

Since May 13, Iran has allowed thirty Chinese vessels to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.

This was reported by the independent monitoring group IWN on its X page.

According to the report, this was made possible by diplomatic efforts by the Chinese Foreign Minister and close ties between the parties.

Recently, US President Donald Trump suspended Operation Project Freedom to restore shipping in the Strait of Hormuz due to disagreements with Saudi Arabia.

The kingdom announced a ban on access for US military aircraft to Prince Sultan Air Base, located southeast of Riyadh, as well as to the country’s airspace.

At the same time, in the Gulf of Oman, the US disabled the empty Iranian oil tanker M/T Hasna. The vessel was attempting to breach the naval blockade and was heading toward one of Iran’s ports.

The pilot fired several rounds from a 20mm cannon at the tanker’s rudder (a movable vertical blade located underwater at the stern of the vessel), thereby rendering it unable to maneuver.
