R.U.H Regiment Liberates Forested Area Near Dvorichna in Kupiansk Region

Fighters of the 23rd R.U.H. Assault Regiment of the NGU’s 2nd Khartiia Corps have liberated a forested area near the village of Dvorichna in the Kupiansk sector.

The regiment reported the successful offensive.

During the operation in the Dvorichna district, Khartiia fighters cleared an area southwest of the village and took control of the northern part of the Zapadne settlement.

Ukrainian military personnel and foreign volunteers from Latin American countries were deployed to carry out the combat mission.

The assault group, supported by reconnaissance and strike UAVs, destroyed Russian troops positioned in dugouts and among the ruins.

Fighters of the 23rd Assault Regiment also seized small arms and portable radios as trophies.

As of 08:00, the General Staff reported that enemy forces conducted one offensive action in the Kupiansk sector, in the direction of Kurylivka.

Dvorichna and Zapadne are settlements in the northern part of Kharkiv region’s Kupiansk district, near the Oskil River and on the route toward Kupiansk.

This section of the front is strategically important, as control of the area affects the Russian forces’ ability to advance toward the city. That is why the Ukrainian Defense Forces’ advance near Dvorichna and Zapadne is significant not only because of the territory liberated, but also because it could push the invaders back and improve Ukrainian positions in the Kupiansk sector.

In April–May, personnel from the regiment also conducted a successful operation in the Vovchansk sector, clearing a company strongpoint and eliminating 12 Russians.

On August 4, reports emerged of Russian infiltration groups in Kupiansk. The 41st Mechanized Brigade reported striking the enemy groups.

The unit has existed since the ATO times and operated as a reconnaissance and strike group. Following the start of the full-scale invasion, its personnel took part in battles around Kyiv, the counteroffensive in the Kherson region, the Kursk operation, the defense of the Sumy region, and the liberation of Kupiansk. Until autumn 2025, R.U.H. operated as part of the 47th Magura Mechanized Brigade. In March this year, the 4th Battalion was expanded into the 23rd Separate Assault Regiment.
