Infozahyst has unveiled the Mercury tracked armored electronic warfare system, designed to support assault troops.
Yaroslav Kalinin, CEO of Infozahyst, discussed this in an interview with Militarnyi, which is now available on Patreon and MonoBase.
The mobile electronic warfare system is based on the MT-LBu armored personnel carrier, which has been outfitted with the necessary equipment and features a modernized chassis.
The MT-LBu was developed in the 1970s in the Soviet Union specifically for transporting equipment, command posts, electronic warfare and communications systems, as well as artillery systems.
The Mercury system is designed to operate directly on the front lines to jam enemy communications during offensive operations.
It blocks radio networks and drone control channels while assault groups are on the move.
“It is designed to disrupt the enemy’s communications system. Suppressing their communication systems so that important information cannot be transmitted to headquarters,” said Yaroslav Kalinin.
Additionally, protective grilles against enemy drones were installed on the armored personnel carrier for additional protection.
Mercury was first unveiled during the signing ceremony of an agreement between Infozahyst and the German company Rohde & Schwarz.
Rohde & Schwarz will collaborate with the Ukrainian company in the field of electronic warfare systems.
“The synergy between Infozahyst’s operational expertise and our advanced, combat-proven EW solutions creates a powerful combination that meets the rapidly changing needs of modern armed forces,” Rohde & Schwarz noted.
Infozahyst has also developed the Cascade radio reconnaissance system based on the Kozak-5 armored vehicle, capable of detecting enemy communication sources.
