Germany to host the next Ukraine Defense Contact Group meeting in September

The next Ukraine Defense Contact Group meeting will be held in Germany.

U.S. Air Forces in Europe-Air Forces Africa reported about this.

Ukraine Defense Contact Group meeting will be held on September 8 in the so-called “Ramstein format”.

U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III is scheduled to host an in-person Ukraine Defense Contact Group meeting.

The Command noted that Secretary Austin has again invited Ministers of Defense and senior military officials from around the world to discuss the ongoing crisis in Ukraine and various security issues facing U.S. allies and partners.

Since the beginning of the creation of the Ukraine Contact Group, several meetings have already taken place, at which various countries announced the allocation of defense aid to Ukraine.

The meeting will be held at the American Ramstein Air Base in Germany for the second time.

As previously reported, on July 20, after another meetings in the Ramstein format, U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin announced that Ukraine will have 16 HIMARS MLRS in the near future.

In addition, the USA noted the effectiveness of Ukraine’s use of the HIMARS systems.

On August 1, it became known that first German MARS II multiple rocket launcher systems were received by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

On August 11, the Conference of Northern European Allies in support of Ukraine was held in the capital of Denmark.

Denmark will participate in a British-led training project with 130 Danish soldiers, who will act as instructors in various areas of training.
