Drones Strike One of Russia’s Largest Chemical Plants in Cherepovets

Attack drones reached the Russian chemical complex in the city of Cherepovets, the Vologda region. The drones traveled over 800 kilometers.

Footage of the strike was published by the analytical Telegram channel Exilenova+.

According to the channel, black smoke from fires has been confirmed at two of the three ammonia production units, which have a combined annual capacity of 900,000 tons.

There are also reports of a possible hit on the ammonia storage facility for these units.

After the start of the full-scale invasion, this plant was additionally protected from drone strikes with a special metal structure.

The governor of the Vologda region, Georgy Filimonov, stated that Russian air defense forces allegedly shot down 13 drones. Earlier, Filimonov had reported two drones shot down.

The affected facility accounts for about 6% of Russia’s ammonia production, while the plant as a whole accounts for approximately 10% of total ammonia production.
