Ukrainian drones struck an oil terminal at the seaport of Taganrog, Russia, and an oil depot in the city of Azov in the Rostov region.
This was reported by Exilenova+, which also published a video of the fires at these facilities.
The attack on the terminal began overnight, while the oil depot was struck early in the morning on July 10.
Footage from eyewitnesses at the scene indicates that the Ukrainian Defense Forces used domestically produced FP-1 or even FP-2 kamikaze drones for these strikes, as the targeted facilities are located relatively close to the front line.
Fires in the storage tanks were initially reported at the Kurgannefteprodukt oil terminal in the seaport of Taganrog.
The terminal’s primary function is to store and transship Russian petroleum products to seagoing vessels in the Sea of Azov.
In addition, storage tanks at the oil depot in the city of Azov, located near Rostov-on-Don, have been hit.
Local residents are posting numerous videos and photos online showing the burning tanks and thick black smoke that has already spread for kilometers.
The footage shows that the Russians tried to protect the tanks from drones using nets, but they were ineffective.
These strikes are part of the Ukrainian Defense Forces’ ongoing campaign to target Russian infrastructure used for the storage and transportation of oil and fuel.
Specifically, early this morning, Ukrainian drones struck Russian oil depots in Tver and near the town of Mikhailovsk in the Stavropol Krai.
The strikes caused massive fires in the tank farms at both sites.
