Russians Brought Su-57E Jets to Egypt Equipped with Monochrome, Kover, and Dan-T Missiles

The Russians have delivered a Su-57E fighter jet to Egypt along with the latest high-precision munitions for it.

Rostec reported that it will publicly showcase the weapons at the El Alamein International Airshow 2026, taking place from September 8 to 10.

A Chinese military observer took photos in which Russian high-precision munitions are visible, specifically the S-71M Monochrome, S-71K Kover, and Dan-T.

During the exhibition, the company will showcase the Su-57E equipped with short-range RVV-MD2 air-to-air missiles, long-range RVV-BD air-to-air missiles, the Kh-38MLE air-to-ground missile, and the Kh-69 and Kh-58USHKE cruise missiles.

The S-71K Kover is a Russian aviation cruise missile developed by the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) for use on Su-57 fighters; its integration onto the S-70 Okhotnik heavy UAV is being considered for the future.

The S-71K saw its first combat use in late 2025. According to the Defense Intelligence of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, its estimated range is up to 300 km.

The S-71K also served as the basis for the S-71M Monochrome missile version, adapted for the internal compartments of the Su-57 and S-70 and equipped with autonomous target-seeking systems.

In August 2026, Defense Intelligence reported discovering an American NVIDIA Jetson Orin computing module in the S-71M. Its presence indicates the use of AI for data processing and guidance without a constant external connection.

The missile’s warhead is an OFAB-250-270 high-explosive fragmentation warhead weighing approximately 250 kg.

The Dan-T is a cruise missile that Russia plans to produce in about 10,000 units per year.

As of August, the Dan-T cruise missile can be launched from both ground-based and airborne platforms. Launches can be carried out from Su-25SM3, Su-30SM, Su-34, and Su-57 aircraft, as well as the Mi-28 helicopter.

The Su-57 is a Russian fifth-generation multi-role fighter developed by Sukhoi (part of the United Aircraft Corporation, UAC) as the successor to the Su-27 family. In the war against Ukraine, the Su-57 is used, in particular, as a carrier for X-69 cruise missiles.
