Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence has published information on 23 Russian companies involved in producing 95Ya6 anti-aircraft guided missiles for Pantsir air defense systems.
The agency reported this on the War&Sanctions portal.
The 95Ya6 missiles are the main medium-range munitions used by various versions of the Pantsir family. They are utilized to intercept aerial targets at ranges of up to 20 km.
The JSC Design Bureau of Instrument Making Named After Academician A. G. Shipunov (Shipunov Design Bureau) plays a key role in their production; it is the main developer and manufacturer of the 95Ya6 missiles and supplies them to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation under a state defense order.
The production network also includes Tulamashzavod and Tulatochmash, which assemble the missile’s sustainer stage and equipment compartment and manufacture gyroscopes, engine components, and separation mechanisms.
The Perm Powder Plant and Kamensky Combine Plant supply the solid-fuel 17A6-1 motors, while the JSC V.V. Bakhirev State Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering manufactures the warheads.
Among the other companies involved in the production network, the DIU names the JSC Plant Komponent, which manufactures proximity target sensors and electronics; the PJSC Saratov Electrical Instrument Manufacturing Plant Named After Sergo Ordzhonikidze, which supplies radiation and power units; and the PJSC Tambov Plant Elektropribor, which manufactures steering drives for the 95Ya6.
The production network also includes the JSC Izhevsk Mechanical Plant, which supplies wing sections and warhead casings; the JSC Murom Instrument-Making Plant, which manufactures pyrotechnic components; and PJSC Energiya, which produces batteries.
About one-third of the companies identified by the DIU are still not subject to sanctions by any country in the sanctions coalition.
Ukrainian intelligence had already exposed the production network behind the 72V6 combat vehicle of the Pantsir-S1 system, involving more than 50 companies.
Militarnyi previously reported that Belarusian industry is also involved in producing new Pantsir systems. Since 2024, the Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant has been supplying Russia with armored MZKT-7930 chassis for integration of the 72V6 combat module.
In 2026, Russia also stepped up the deployment of the Pantsir-SMD-E variant, primarily adapted for countering drones. It lacks 30 mm automatic cannons and can use both standard 95Ya6 missiles and smaller TKB-1055 Gvozd missiles.
Russia also deployed such systems on rooftops in Moscow to strengthen the capital’s air defenses.
