This was reported by the press service of the Philippine Air Force.

The plane crash occurred on October 23 at 3:51 p.m. local time at Fernando Air Base in Lipa City, Batangas Province.

“Both aircraft crashed within the base perimeter; no other casualties were reported,” said Philippine Air Force spokesperson Colonel Elvin Kapingwian in a statement.

According to local media reports, the collision occurred during a formation flight exercise. It is known that the aircraft involved were numbered 032 and 037.

The Air Force Command has launched an investigation into the causes of the collision and has temporarily suspended flights of the entire SF-260 fleet. The names of the deceased service members have not yet been released at the request of their families.

The SF-260 is a two-seat, single-engine training aircraft developed by the Italian company SIAI-Marchetti. In the Philippines, it is used for the initial training of military pilots, and armed variants have been used to strike ground targets.
