Defence Intelligence of Ukraine: Russia Exceeds Annual Missile Production Target

Russia is exceeding its annual missile production target, maintaining monthly production at 110–120% of the planned level.

Major General Vadym Skibitskyi, Deputy Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, reported on this.

According to the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, as of August 3, the enemy had already fulfilled its annual state defense procurement production targets for missiles such as the Zircon and Oniks.

The Russians also exceeded the July production target for Kh-101 missiles by 140%, for Kalibr missiles by 111%, and for Kh-35 missiles by 200%.

According to Skibitskyi, the monthly missile production targets are as follows:

• Zircon – 5 missiles
• Oniks – 8 missiles
• Kh-101 – 87 missiles
• Kalibr – 29 missiles
• Iskander – 60–65 missiles

“The missiles are not really being added to stockpiles. At present, almost everything coming off the production line is being used for combat operations. The only exception is Kalibr missiles, which are currently being produced and supplied mainly to other fleets, since all of Russia’s new warships and submarines are equipped with these systems,” Vadym Skibitskyi said.

The Russians have also established production of the RM-48U surface-to-surface missile, which is launched from the S-400 system. Production plans call for 40 units to be manufactured in August, while existing stockpiles reportedly stand at around 400 units.

The Russian defense industry’s planned production target for all models of the Geran, Garpiya, and Gerbera series of strike drones for August this year is 11,000 units.

The Deputy Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine also noted a trend toward the use of turbojet-powered Geran-4 and Geran-5 UAVs for deep-strike missions.

“In July, they slightly reduced the intensity of drone strikes and cut production because they are reconfiguring their production lines with a focus on turbojet-powered Geran-4 and Geran-5 drones. In one of the recent attacks, 50% of the drones were already turbojet-powered,” Skibitskyi said.

The Deputy Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine noted that, as Russia transitions to domestically produced components, the Russians continue to obtain critical components for the production of missiles, not only for military but also for civilian use, from a number of European countries, as well as the United States, China, Japan, Taiwan, and South Korea.

Russia’s missile capabilities are also being reinforced by a North Korean missile unit, whose deployment became known on August 5.
