National Guard of Ukraine Hosts Competition to Determine the Best Tank Crew

The Ukrainian National Guard held a competition to determine the best tank crew.

Thirteen crews participated in the event, performing tasks on T-62, T-64, T-72, T-80, and Leopard 1A5 tanks, according to National Guard Commander Oleksandr Pivnenko.

In particular, the competition featured a T-80 tank, likely from the 12th Azov Brigade, equipped with captured turret armor from a T-90M and side armor from a T-80BVM.

The competition took place in three key categories: Shooting, Driving, and Target Detection. During the live-fire stage, tank crews engaged targets with the main gun and machine gun, which simulated an enemy motorized platoon.

During the driving stage, the tank drivers navigated sections of the route of varying difficulty, and during the reconnaissance stage, they detected camouflaged objects in wooded terrain.

The winner of the competition was the crew of the 3rd Operational Spartan Brigade, named after Colonel Petro Bolbochan.

Second place went to the 1st Presidential Brigade “Bureviy”, named after Hetman Petro Doroshenko, and third place went to the 17th Poltava Brigade.
