Central Asia-Center Gas Pipeline System Feeding MiG Factories and Ammunition Production Stops in Russia

A large-scale accident occurred in the Volgograd region on a gas pipeline that provided reverse gas supplies from Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.

This was reported to the Militarnyi media outlet by its own sources in the special services.

The reason for the shutdown is said to be serious damage to the pipe due to sinking soil, although the scale of the special services and equipment involved indicates much more serious implications.

In addition to domestic needs, the pipeline played a key role in reverse gas supplies from Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan totaling up to 12 billion cubic meters per year.

Currently, fuel transit has been completely suspended, jeopardizing the stability of energy supply to major industrial hubs in Russia.

It is worth noting that this is not the first case of problems with this gas pipeline. For example, in August 2025, the gas pipeline was damaged by an explosion and gas transportation was suspended for an indefinite period.

The Central Asia-Center gas pipeline system belongs to the Russian company Gazprom and transports natural gas from Turkmenistan through Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan to Russia.

It is known that this branch provides energy to a number of sensitive facilities of the Russian military-industrial complex. In particular, these include the Demikhovo Machinebuilding Plant, the Russian Aircraft Corporation ‘MiG,’ and the Magnum-K ammunition plant.
