Alfa-Metal Denies Training of Russian Military Personnel by SAS Veterans

The Bulgarian training facility Alfa-Metal International Training Center has denied claims that it has trained Russian military personnel or Russian citizens to participate in the war against Ukraine.

The company provided its official position to Militarnyi.

The statement concerns a report about SAS veterans who, according to The Telegraph, are alleged to have trained Russian military personnel.

Alfa-Metal said the center operates in accordance with Bulgarian law and under the supervision of the competent state authorities.

According to the company, participants in professional training programs undergo identification and screening procedures, and the required information about them is provided to Bulgarian authorities in accordance with established procedures.

The company said it was being publicly linked to activities that, if they were actually taking place, could have extremely serious political, security and reputational consequences not only for Alfa-Metal, but potentially also for Bulgaria and its state institutions.

Alfa-Metal also said it disagrees with presenting information from anonymous sources, intelligence materials or third-party interpretations as established facts about its activities.

The company said it was ready to provide the necessary factual clarifications and relevant documentation through appropriate and lawful channels.
