Queues of Russian trucks heading from occupied Crimea to the temporarily occupied part of the Kherson region have formed at the approaches to the pontoon crossing near Chonhar.

This is evidenced by satellite images released by the Russian service of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty.

The occupiers set up this crossing for motor vehicles after the stationary bridge was damaged by strikes from Ukrainian Defense Forces drones.

A photo taken on the morning of June 12 shows at least 17 trucks and several passenger cars in front of the crossing heading toward the Kherson region.

Another 15 or so trucks were waiting to cross at the Dzhankoi checkpoint.

At the same time, no passenger cars or trucks heading toward Crimea are visible in the satellite image, although the peninsula continues to experience shortages of fuel and certain everyday goods.

This indicates that the route is being used solely for departures from the temporarily occupied Crimea.

Yesterday, following new Ukrainian strikes on the road bridges connecting Crimea with the Kherson region, the Russian-appointed ‘head’ of the occupied part of the Kherson region announced new logistics routes for drivers to reach the peninsula.

According to current conditions on these routes, the crossing near Chonhar and the bridges in the Henichesk area are not recommended for travel toward Crimea.

As a reminder, on the night of June 11, the Ukrainian Defense Forces conducted a large-scale joint operation to destroy the logistical infrastructure of the Russian occupation forces on the approaches to occupied Crimea.

This operation was planned and executed at the Joint Multi Domain Operations Center, according to the 1st Assault Regiment. The operation was carried out by fighters of the 1st Assault Regiment named after Dmytro Kotsiubailo, the 475th Assault Regiment Code 9.2, and the Special Operations Center ‘А’ of the Security Service of Ukraine.

Footage released by the military shows several drones striking the bridges. A large convoy of Russian trucks carrying military cargo, including fuel and ammunition, was also hit.
